Gymnastics.

Nelson Room children have spent the last 5 weeks in physical education taking part in gymnastics. We are so fortunate to have the hall and all the great gym gear. The children have made amazing progress. On Friday the Grade 1 students competed in the Nelson Primary Gymnastic Champs. These students had trained with Pat during lunchtimes to bring them up to standard. Caleb, Shone and Aaron represented the boys and Jazmin, Jordyn and Tanisha represented the girls. They all did extremely well and Pat and Judi were very proud to take such well mannered and polite kids to the event. They competed with great success.

Bandanna Day

Bandanna Day was a great success at Auckland Point School. We ordered plenty of beautifully coloured Canteen bandannas and sold everyone of them. The children wore them to school on Friday and we all fronted up to assembly in out bandannas.
The children wore them in a wide variety ways, around their necks, hanging off their belts, around their heads, tied around their wrists and as belts. Very inventive!

Big Bouk and Little Bouk

Two chickens joined us for a day in class. We read chicken stories, chicken plays, shared chicken poems and researched hens on the net. We found out that our hens originally came from Wild Malayasian fowls.
The hens came from Kokoroa and are Red Shavers, which are kept for their eggs.

T Ball Competition

We were so excited Stoke School invited us to a T Ball Competition. Unfortunately it was cancelled because it was raining. We had been practising each day, we can wack the ball, run around the bases and are getting really good at fielding the ball into home base.

Fun photos in the dandelions

While Nelmac wait for the daffodils tops to dry off in Moller Fountion Park, the dandelions are flowering madly. Just for fun we popped across the road and the children took some wild and wacky photos.

Netguide Web challenge

St Vincent Room are finalist in the Netguide Web Challenge. The children used us as demonstrators to Wet Comb. We were photographed and some of our images were in the final cut. Well done St Vincent Room. We hope you win.

Kapa Haka

Each Tuesday we join Matua Madsen in the hall for Kapa Haka. The children are loving this special time when we sing waiata, learn the haka and practice stick games. Matua Madsen makes learning fun.
